When it comes to design, Val has a special passion for kitchens, the “heart of the home,” where she spends much of her time preparing meals for her family. She thrives on creating functional spaces that make life easier and more enjoyable, with a knack for space planning and problem-solving. Her expertise includes knowledge of the ADA and a love for organization.
About Valerie
Born in New Jersey and raised in Michigan from the age of three, Val grew up in a dynamic, ever-evolving environment, with her mom always renovating their home. This early exposure to design sparked a lifelong passion for creating beautiful, functional spaces. As a child, Val and her aunt enjoyed touring new homes in rapidly developing neighborhoods, further fueling her love for interior design.
Her creative journey began in first grade when she started art classes, and that spark has only grown brighter over the years. Although her favorite medium is oil painting, time doesn’t always allow for her to indulge in this passion as much as she’d like.
Val graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree, majoring in Interior Design with a minor in Industrial Technology. She is a proud wife and mother of two, balancing family life with her various hobbies and passions. Her days are filled with guitar lessons, baseball games, dance competitions, and, of course, art.
A true lover of crafts, Val creates Halloween costumes for her children, makes wooden signs, designs decorations for parties and the list goes on! When she’s not creating, she enjoys spending time in nature, traveling, doing yoga, taking long walks on the trails, going for bike rides, and boating. She’s also a fan of trying out different breweries and enjoys relaxing on the water, where she can enjoy watching her kids go tubing, which is always a highlight!
